China: HIV and AIDS Street Theater Educates Migrant Workers ... Migrant workers and other at-risk groups in Chifeng City, China, are learning about the devastating effects of HIV and AIDS through street theater performances. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) started the program in March and will continue it through December. "Many migrant workers have little or no knowledge about basic health care or sex education," said Suki Lau, public relations officer for ADRA's China office. "They have no medical care, and act as potential carriers for a number of infectious diseases."
There are 650,000 people living with HIV in China, including 75,000 living with AIDS, according to a 2006 report published by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. More than 1,100 migrant workers, taxi drivers, construction contractors, self-employed businessmen, and others have attended the performances to date. [ADRA/ANN Staff]

World Church: Adventist Review Editor, Completes 2nd Devotional ... William G. Johnsson, Adventist Review editor, has completed his second devotional and 20th book. The book, Jesus: A Heart Full of Grace, focuses on the second part of John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Johnsson says the book connects the theme of grace to everyday life. "I've come back to that theme of grace over the years in speaking and writing," Johnsson says. "I come back to grace because it gives us a reason to live and gives us hope for eternity." The book is now available at Adventist Book Centers. [ANN Staff]

The September 21 to 23 festival brought participants ranging in age from 16 years old to 35 years old from Russia, England, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. Attendees participated in a competition where their composition skills were tested in five categories of music: worship, gospel music, youth camps, bard and retro.
