Ted N. C. Wilson, a vice president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the son of a former church president, was today elected to serve as president of the 16.3-million member global Protestant denomination.

Wilson was appointed by the church's 246-member Nominating Committee and confirmed by the General Conference Session delegation, which is an international body of 2,410 appointed members and the highest governing body in the church.

Wilson replaces Jan Paulsen, who has served as president since 1999.

The appointment took place at the church's 59th General Conference Session, being held at the Georgia Dome and adjacent World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

"This is not just an organization, this is not just another denomination. This is God's remnant church," Wilson said in an address to delegates after his appointment.

"I do not know everything, but I shall seek wisdom from counselors and from the Bible and from the Spirit of Prophecy," he said, referring to the writings of church co-founder Ellen White.

"The Spirit of Prophecy is one of the great gifts God has given to the Seventh-day Adventist Church," Wilson said. "It applies to the past and to the future. And, we are going home soon."

Wilson asked that church members ask for God's guidance "and pray that the Holy Spirit would bring us revival and reformation."

Wilson, 60 years old, was elected as a general vice president of the Adventist Church in 2000 during the General Conference Session in Toronto. His 36 years of denominational service include administrative and executive posts in the Mid-Atlantic United States, Africa and Russia.

Wilson began his church career as a pastor in 1974 in the church's Greater New York Conference. He served as an assistant director and then director of Metropolitan Ministries there from 1976 to 1981. He went on to serve in the church's then Africa-Indian Ocean Division, based in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, until 1990. There he served as a departmental director and later as executive secretary, the second highest officer.

Following his post in West Africa, he served at the church's world headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States, as an associate secretary for two years before accepting the position of president of the church's Euro-Asia Division in Moscow, Russia, from 1992 to 1996. Wilson then came back to the United States to serve as president of the Review and Herald Publishing Association in Hagerstown, Maryland, until his election as a General Conference vice president in 2000.

An ordained minister, Wilson holds a doctorate degree in religious education from New York University, a master of divinity degree from Andrews University and a master of science degree in public health from Loma Linda University's School of Public Health.

During his address to delegates, Wilson was joined on stage by his wife, Nancy Louise Vollmer Wilson, a physical therapist. The couple has three daughters.

"Our spouses are so important. This wonderful woman is a spiritual backbone for me," Wilson said.

Wilson is the son of former General Conference president Neal C. Wilson, who served in the post from 1979 to 1990.

Many delegates on the floor of the Georgia Dome said Wilson's election demonstrated the church's confidence in his leadership.

Rob Vandeman, president of the church's Chesapeake Conference in the U.S. state of Maryland -- where Wilson is a member -- said he was "pleased" with Wilson's appointment. "This vote is an expression of the world church's view, that they have confidence in Ted Wilson because of his extensive experience," Vandeman said.

Daniel Jackson, president of the Adventist Church in Canada said: "I think Ted Wilson has been given a clear mandate from the Nominating Committee. He needs our prayers and our support. I'm happy at the unity of our church."

Jeffrey Brown, president of the church in Bermuda, said: "We are happy, too. He will be a strong leader; his strong principles will be healthy for the church."

Wilson is expected to address a press conference this afternoon.

The Adventist Church is a denomination that in recent decades has grown quickly in some world regions. Roughly one-third of membership now resides in Africa, while another one-third lives in South America and Central America. There are about 1.1 million Adventists in the United States, where the denomination was established in 1863.

The Adventist Church operates the largest Protestant network of schools and hospitals worldwide. The church also runs disaster response and development programs through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International. It also sponsors a religious freedom forum, having established in 1893 what is now the International Religious Liberty Association.

The General Conference Session, held every five years, is an international spiritual gathering and business session to elect leaders and vote on proposed changes to the Church Manual and Constitution. Session runs through July 3.

I fear that this decision will cause the church to separate into a group that is ultra-conservative (his beliefs), and another containing forward-thinking Adventists.

My prayer is that God may use him to bring back the SDA in Germany to the standards and beliefs of the world church. God bless him end the entire church - God's endtime church.

Well, the Wilson family seems to be an important family to lead a world church which is complised of people of many nation, kindred , tongue and people twice in about twenty years.

If the process was free, fair and not manipulated by politics or self interest, then I say that is must be the doing of God and we pray for Ted and support him as he leads the church through what might be the last years on our earths history.

May God bless him and his family as they minister to us.

As someone who has been a friend of Ted since days at Takoma Academy in Takoma Park, MD, I am thrilled that the Lord as tapped this man as leader of His remmant church. Ted is a man of strong principles, fervent prayer, and deep desire to see souls saved in God's soon-coming kingdom. Frankly, I'm very disappointed. He better changed his attitude about women.

Elder Wilson has clearly stated his position as a servant of God, follow the former prophets and apostles, and the counsel of the Spirit of Prophechy. This is what God's people aught to do, and what God expects of us. This is what made the chapter of Hebrews 11, a people who will stand for God. The sealing of God's people is going on, as mentioned in Revelation 7, 15, etc. In the past God used, priests and princes like Ezekiel, Daniel-his friends, to take a stand, and that is what God is expecting us to do. Then He will shower His blessing in the measure of the latter rain, as an armour to empower, protect His people with a zeal for the 3rd angel's message proclamation. The 144000 are being prepared and sealed. So that's what we are expecting from a leader of God's people especially when persecution is not far from us, and that's what Elder Wilson has just done, and we are grateful, extremely grateful. May God bless you too friend to not fear. May God bless Elder Wilson, his family and the entire church. And may we be faithful and not fear. Yes a sifting will take place, and we are and will be with those who take a stand for the truth against and beast and his image. Maranatha!

God chooses whosever He will. He does not look and numbers, but He looks at whoever He has prepared and chosen at any given moment. This is God's work and we must be careful to critize it. Pray brother, pray.

May god used him in a might way I will be praying for him .
God bless

Regardless of the process, God can work through the politics if there was any to accomplish His purpose. Pray brother, pray.

May the good Lord shape the duly elected president into the kind of a vessel He deems right for His noble ministry is my sincere prayer in Jesus name

1. Is there an age limit for any GC President to stop serving an that capacity?

2. Appointing a GC President at age 60, would it be fair to assume that he might only be serving one term?

3. Is it possible that qualified persons with more youth on their side (perhaps 50 to 55 years old) be asked to serve as GC President? This would allow such persons more time to develop and make more meaningful contributions.

Those were just a few questions that I deemed reasonable.

I sincerely wish and pray that Pastor Ted Wilson will successfully advance the mission of Christ and church during his time in that office.

I pray he may leave a better legacy than his father. While staying true to the movement and it's mission, lets work at not leaving our "Lights" behind when they might see some things differently. Make a way for them to follow and find a place.
And lets look at moving away from our creedal postions of the 1980s and look back to our roots where the Bible stands as our only creed. I pray for President Wilson that God may lead him and bless our people with his leadership. Let us recieve the latter rain soon and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ as put forth in the three angels messages so we can all go home.
Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Let the name of the Lord be glorified. The church now should be prepared to receive more power from the Holy spirit and let everyone take a burden to pray for the church and also for those who have not accepted the gospel of the truth. I've dedicated 3 days for special prayers everyday at 1500 gmt to pray for those whom the Lord has appointed to take new responsibilities. Please join me: jmwawuda2010@ovi.com

I do pray for the leaders of the SDA church, modern Israel. But just as there was the "Sauline" leadership of old, but God had secretly appointed David, so also, God has secretly appointed a "Davidic" leadership in this our day and age. They will be the future leaders of the faithful souls, the church. When this happens, the denomination as we know it today will not exist.

I have met Ted a couple of years ago while visiting the USA with my family. While sitting and chatting over a lunch in a Middle East Reunion weekend I could see his love and commitment to the church in addition to his down to earth personality. I was hoping that this man of principles would lead the advent movement soon as the church is in desperate need for a strong leader.

By the way I was told years ago a little story about Ted’s father, Neal Wilson. While Neal was serving in Egypt somebody could see the leadership qualities in him and predicted that one day he would lead the general conference and years later he did.

What a heritage! May our Almighty God bless Ted and help him to lead the Adventist church in accomplishing its mission.

From the scriptures we notice that God has always prepared and appointed a special person to lead His people for a special time and circumstance. And from the counsels of the Spirit of Prophecy we know that we are now in a special time as see the final movements in rapid momentum in the fulfilment of prophecy. Hence we can also see that God has prepared for His church His servant, Elder Wilson whom He surrounded throughout his life by the positive influences of the Holy Spirit seen in the leadership of his grandfather and father who served and carried weighty responsibilities of the church. Elder Wilson's grandfather and father were all given the gift of leadership to lead God's people throughout its development. And we believe that this gift has transcended to their son and grandson whom God prepared to know the truth and recognize that this church is the remnant church of God and we must move with its spirit to accomplish the mission in the great controversy. We move in comfort and assurance then, that our Great High Priest Jesus by His representative the Holy Spirit has brought this moment to take place for His church.

May God's name be glorified as you lead us to our final destination of peace, heaven. My family and I will be praying for you as I wish all could hear this message of peace without being confused.

I am proud to be a member of this church and wish all could feel the same.
God bless your ministry.

Masters and Doctorate? ...Why not a farmer, or fisherman, or a carpenter! Where do we find in the bible that our leaders are to be rated according to their masters and doctorates! Why not a simple and true consecrated church pastor, or even layman who follows a "thus says the Lord" instead of a "thus says the committee". All this GC already smells like politicians world. Same spirit.

Dr. T.N. Wilson,

Kay.

I don't think the church will continue to divide because a conservative was appointed as president. Elder Paulsen was left of center in his thinking and this didn't necessarily divide the church. The division in the church comes about because we allow culture to pressure us into giving up some clear Biblical distinctives and practices. Division also comes about because individuals seek to push their agenda contrary to the world church decisions, or a clear Thus saith the Lord on a matter. What we need is to discuss differences of thought in a kindly and good-spirited fashion. Kindness goes along way even when two disagree.

Blessings.

The Lord has lad in this appointment. I congratulate Dr. Ted Wilson and contineu to pray for the Lords guidance in the elections for the SUD church.

Remember your leadership and God's people should be thankful by the grace and the Blood of Jesus-Christ.
Soon very soon we will see him touch him and be with him in the eternal kingdom.
Peace be with you like Josua.
God bless you...

I'm reading and have heard some concerns, but I'm not worry ... our prophetic Church is MUCH bigger than a single man. In fact, our inspired structure with all the vice-presidents, Division leaders, Executive Committee and various sub-committees, protects us from any dictatorship. Pastor Ted Wilson may be more conservative, but having now to interact from a position of authority with the many other SDA church leaders of the world will lead him, by love and for sake of unity, to put aside his personal/cultural thoughts and views, and adapt/ajust himself to God's thoughts and views.
Regarding the fact that he is from North America while the membership of our church is mostly from elsewhere, the Lord (and all of us, right?) desires the very best president in place for the well-being of the whole world Church, should he be from Africa or South-America or ... North America!
So let's trust God's direction through our nominating process and consensual/decisional structure, and let's make sure we do locally our personal part of God's will. AMEN!

God leads in many ways including the election of our church leaders. I do wish God's blessings on Pr Wilson as he takes on this task leading our church with all its members with the different cultures, languages, ages and opinions.

If he does read these comments, I do encourage him to ensure that the church leadership looks to include women, members from South America and Africa as well as younger people much more widely in all parts of the church leadership. This needs to be more than a token person in these roles.
Maybe our next president will be either a non-white or female, representing the great majority of church members around the world.

We have been blessed with Pr Paulsen as our previous president and we wish him well in the future.

All in the family!

What I believe:

1.- Everybody,I mean all of us should hold up and support the tired arms of modern moses by praying and asking the Lord´s favor in our behalf, before sunsets. It´s a cruent battle against spiritual and modern amonites, cananites and philistees. God has just called Pastor and Elder Ted to fulfill a great mission.

2.- On the other hand, as Sir Hans K. LaRondelle states: Our leaders should stand on the shoulders of the former prophets or leaders of our Church and try to have a better glimpse, a farther and clear and specific vision of things to do.

3.- We should be Adventists in order the world become adventist, too.

God bless you Ted, we still remember pastor Neal lovely.

Congratulations! My wife, Dim and I are very happy to hear the news of you being elected as the World Church leader. This morning as I arrived at the Yangon Central Church, the first thing that catch my eyes was the enlarged picture of you on top and another is Nancy and you. Personally I know Mark Kellner whose news releases are good to read and much appreciated.
The church members around the world can hear and see what’s happening at the World Church in session. And the best thing is that Myanmar is not excluded. Ted, it is because of you back in 2004 at the First GIEN Forum being convened at the World Church Headquarters, Silver Spring, Maryland. You were the one who motivated the participants generously donated $3006 that enabled for the installation of Broad Band Internet System at the church headquarters in Yangon, Myanmar.
Your concern for Myanmar, one of the hardest places to work in the world will never, ever be forgotten. I believe now is the final days of Planet Earth’s history. The challenge is extremely great but I hope and believe by God help, as Joshua did you will be the one who will lead out the people of God to the Heavenly Canaan. We will continue to pray for Nancy and you as you lead God’s church.
The news posted at the church bulletin board was done by my son, Thang Pau, the technician of the Voice of Hope - Myanmar.

Perhaps Ted Wilson's greatest accomplishment will be to convince Seventh-day Adventists that labels and categories are unnecessary. God will provide wisdom if we ask. Isaiah 8:20 says, "To the law and to the testimony. . ." These principles are hardly the accomplishments of Conservatives or Liberals.

God's standard - His character - is everlasting and therefore needs no political or secular brand name to give it credibility. The Holy Spirit has no political affiliation or preference; and, therefore does not endorse any of the current or former political parties - they all need Him.

Apply the proper biblical test to a man or woman's words or life, without regard for popular or prevailing trends. Jesus Christ, our example, was neither Conservative nor Liberal - He was Righteous! He was Holy! I pray each day that the Spirit of God can convince just a few men and women that Christ can completely transform their lives and make them new creatures in these last hours of the judgment. Ted Wilson may be just the man for the job.

My prayers have been answered, and the prayers of many others, in that God has chosen you to lead home those who want to see Jesus face to face. Also, that you will have the continued power of the Holy Spirit to inspire and train Pastoral & Lay Leadership to reach the non churched who are seeking the Lord's plan for their lives in these trying times of world's history.

I am so glad that Dr. Ted N.C.Wilson is elected as the president of the General conference of SDA church. I strongly believe that the church will have strong leadership at the world head quarter. Leadership is much more than making speech from the church pulpit or publishing article on church magazines.I pray that God use Dr. Ted for his cause. I hope that our church would make significant progress during the coming five years. Let’s support him with our prayers.

My sincere wish and fervant prayer for President Wilson is that he will lead the church to take seriously Jesus' command, "Love one anoher as I have loved you," and that labels such as "a conservative" and "forward thinking Adventists" (misnomers or not) will disappear, and in their place there will be respect among the followers of Jesus. I pray that President Wilson will inspire church members to work together to bring the good news of salvation in Jesus, and His soon coming, to the communities around them.

Moyra, a Seventh-day Adventist lay person

Amen. Amen. Amen To God the Father, the Son And the Holy Spirit for Giving us Ted Wilson to be used by His Holy Spirit to lead His Remnant Church. The times are tough, and every sign around us speaks of prophetic fulfillment and the soon advent of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is time than ever to pray for the fullest manifestation of the Holy Spirit among the Adventist faithfulls to peach His Three Angels Message under the able leadership of Wilson By GOD's POWER.

Keep the light burning, for the bridegroom is coming again. Where will you be.

This is not a dynasty. His father finished as president 20 years ago.A dynasty would be if the son would be elected right after his father.God has appointed our brother Ted Wilson. Please do not try to criticise what God has decided to be for the good of His remnant church. We should always pray for the leader of our church and do our part so that Jesus can come sooner and take us home!

Of course we will like to see someone elected from other parts of the world. However, the mans background from Russia to Africa has well prepared him to lead a world church. You don't have to be at the top to have the greatest influence for good. Thousands of people will be working with him. The good thing is he won't have to spend years attempting to get to know different parts of the world or the people in them.

The Lord will lead. Christ is soon to return and race or location of a persons birth should not limit our view points.

We have a person who has refered to the SDA church as the remnant, and with gusto, FINALLY!!!!!!! AMEN!!!!!!! This same person refers to the SOP without fear of reprisal, again, a hearty and heart felt AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is time that we, as GOD'S remnant church, speak boldly of the truth that we have known for the past 160 and sixty years. We were established in 1863 but were well on our way long before that brother's and sister's. We have a man here who has no fear to stand firm on not ordaining women which is a rock solid Biblical principle. Let the other denominations ordain women and homosexuals if they want to. We must do God's will and not what is popular. We are the remnant of the Lord and we will stand firm on the Bible and the Bible alone. It is time to shore up the foundations that have made us what we are and boldly work till Jesus comes in the clouds of glory. Brother Wilson, steer the ship clear of danger and straight into the iceburg, it may shudder but it will hold, IT WILL HOLD. AMEN!! God is our head Brother Wilson, let Him lead us home and allow Him to lead you. Happy to hear your words, I hope that will continue. God in command, never forget that Brother. AMEN!!!!

"Wilson is the son of former General Conference president Neal C. Wilson, who served in the post from 1979 to 1990."

I hope, that the new elekted president Ted Wilson, will find time and corage to fight the corruption and froad in the Euro-Asian Division. This hope is based on the facts that he served as the E-Asian Division in the past. This will probably help him to nominate the appropriate individuals to lead out, who are ready to serve and not to reign. Let the Lord bless him, otherwise we will loose a lot of Church members.

Lately, in the United States, the words "conservative" and "socialist" have been delivered in an almost hateful manner. I have been reminded that Jesus rubbed shoulders with everyone regardless of their position. He was not afraid to "get His hands dirty" nor to address those in high positions. It is my prayer, Brother Wilson, that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide you in this new endeavor with the same convictions Jesus demonstrated.

You know that Jesus was ultra conservative; as well as Noah and Abraham and Moses and Joshua--apostacy came in heartly after Joshua and his elders died. Joshua 24:31 We read that also in Judges 2:7-10. It also adds that when the generation rose up that knew not the Lord or the prophet then the childern of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. When somebody stands up and says the we believe in spirit of prophecy and we are God's remnant church and that we have a message to give to the world-- then people stand and say that this person is going to split the church. Foolishness.

I am very pleased for this big change and the chance, that the new elected GC president, Ted Wilson, will find more time and courege to figt the corruption at the top level of the Euro-Asia Division, than the previous president. At the last two periods, the leaders of this part of the world, have wounded the Church body so badly, that there is a denger that the Church will loose a lot of church members with the begin of the separatism process, and this is sad! Pastor Wilson used to lead the Euro-Asia Division and this will probably give him more opportunity to manage the catastrofic and badly deprived situation with in this Church entity.

This is a church that believes in education, highly. This does not mean the church is only for educated people. BUt EG White speaks of the "sharper mind". The desciples were trained by Christ...who could have given a higher education than that? These fishermen were trained by Jesus Christ himself...the SUPREME teacher. Is there a higher university than that of Jesus Christ? Even the Jews asked how these men were able to talk not having gone to their kinds of schools. So, think carefully about what you are asking. We must believe that God has a plan for the church and His hand is in HIS works - including leader appointed for the world church.

Blessed be the name of our Lord God. Honor and Glory belong to Him only.I thank God for His control over the church, and I also thank Him for choosing brother Ted Wilson as the new president and also thank Him for brother Paulsen for been a servant of God. My church in some parts of the world has a problem to see that all people are created in God's image and need to be treated that way in spite of their past histories. May God use you to His glory. Who knows, you could be the last leader to usher this church into the coming kingdom!

Dear Pr. Wilson,

When the job feels overwhelming, just remember that God put you here. This is His church and HE, not us, is in charge, regardless of any politics or process. May the Creator and master of His church guide you. Have no doubts, the One who is giving you this privilege will also give you the wisdom and strength to get the job done. May His name be blessed and glorified.

I pray for you, Ted, that through your leadership God will bring about a spirit of respect and cooperation between people in our church who hold differing opinions on some points, and whose culture and backgrounds are different.

I pray that under your leadership we will be united in our faithfulness to God, and our efforts to follow Jesus' last commands regarding unity among His followers so that we can fulfil the great commission. May our diversity be used by God to reach the diverse population of the world.

Congratulations Ptr. Ted Wilson.
Cordials greetings from Mexico. God has chosen to use you at a very important time in the history of His church. The Church needs some changes around the world and only the sensitive leaders to address of the Holy Spirit can become aware of it. That God use you to assist in the preparation of a people able to live at the height of your call, it heritage and its target.
We truth and recognize that this church is the remnant church of God. May God bless you as you lead our church in these times. The Lord is coming soon and heaven will be grand.
Congratulations and prayers for you.

I think that it is a good age for a president. With 30 years of experience is enough in order to leave some strength to implement his agenda. It all depends on the person. I think that Ted is the right person for the job.
Blessing.

What happened here is no politics, it is the work of the Almighty for his church through the committee. Elder Wilson is a chosen servant of God. He loves the Lord and has allowed the Lord to prepapre and shape him. He has advantages that others have not had and that is a blessing. In fact it is even more advantageous to have a man from within the family who knows this church in a way others have not known or experienced. So God has chosen him not the people. In the past the priesthood was only from the house of Aaron the brother of Moses, do this is no new thing to have the sons take up positions their fathers have taken. In the past when God wanted to communicate a special message He also used people from within, the priests themselves like Ezekiel who is almost a second Moses because God displayed before Him the power and majesty of heaven and His throne in the old testament like He did to Moses. So I say, it is an advantage to the church to have a man of God from within the family of leaders whom God can use to accomplish a great mission for the church in these last days. So let us all accept what God has done for us at this time. Maranatha!

Dear Pastor Doctor Wilson

I want to join the many church members who have congratulated you on your appointment to the new assignment. I was present and witnessed how well the election was received. I congratulate the Nominating Committee for the job well done and the GC for endorsing the nomination. I know the election has been endorsed in heaven as well.

My prayer is that the Almighty, having endorsed your election, shall now hold you in the palm of his hand as you begin to discharge the funtions of your new office, guiding and leading you all the way to the next GC Session/HIS second Coming whichever is the earlier.

Congratulations Pr. Wilson,
You first words not only surprised me, they also led to 2 serious questions. As an Adventist of the 3rd. generation I'm asking myself now:
1. Will I still be allowed to stay in this church? and
2. Does God want me to stay in this church?
Your strong focus on "the remnant church" is sth. I do not believe in. As far as I know, the vast majority of German Adventists share this "disbelief" of mine for several good reasons. (so my serious questions do not only concern me, an unimportant member far far away..)
First, the Bible doesn't mention such a thing as a remnant church. Second the focus of my faith is Christ and Christ alone. Our special call gives us a special responsibility, but our worth is found in Christ alone. Life and worth ist to be found in Christ alone, not in the membership of any group or church. Everything that endangers Christs center position is an idol. If there is sth. to be celebrated, it is Christ and his grace. Some argue, that our identity may be in danger if we don't stress the subject of the remnant. I say our identity should never depend on the exclusivity of a denomination. Our identity is Christ and Christ alone. Why this unhealthy focus on the remnant? The only thing a person can know about the remnant, is that he or she is one of them. I cannot say anything about anybody else in that matter. Trying to do that is eating from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and leads to judging others.. When the disciples engaged in the question about the others, Jesus answer was clear: that is none of your business...!
So God's answer to my question was: Remember Ellen White, she didn't agree with Smith and Butler on several points, but that didn't cause her to leave the church. She still continued to win people for Christ and to love her brothers an sisters.
Now, if you allowed me to continue to be your sister in Christ and a member of the adventist church inspite of the fact that I do not believe in a "remnant church", I would follow sister White's patient example an pray that God may open our eyes and hearts.

In the Lord's vineyard, theres tranquility only when everything is surrendered to the Lord of the harvest. God has put in place all you need to serve in harmony and love of Christ. There Angels to support you in your service. Am talking of Angels in all corners, some even in form of human beings such as elder Paulsen and the church at large. Together, lets not give the devil the author of panics, confusion and thrive a chance at all. God bless your reign in His vineyard. In my ministry at my local church as a treasurer i will endeavour to live up to the standard above and in unity of Holy Spirit lets serve God with a noble motive.

It is about time for SDA church to be deamericanized. A lot of people around the world have problem with americanized SDA church. In many parts of the world that prevents the growth of the church. You can't fight all around the world and wave american flag together with rifles in Afganistan, Irak, Serbia, Somalia, South America, Kuwait and expect people will accept this church, specialy when all presidents od GC are americans.
We believe that God leads the Church, but we shouln't destroy that guidance by selfish amrican politics in the church. Majority of members of the church comes from outside USA so it is not any more american church and we shoul look for presidents elswere if we want this church to grow. Adventism is dying in USA. It is dead in England and major european countries, so why not to give leadership to South America and Africa. Or somebody thinks that they are god only for multipluying membership and bringing more money to America? Hopefully, president Wilson will understand that an make neccessary changes for the next GC session.

"Ted, take us home"...." Elder Wilson, lead us to heaven".... These are scary phrases. Ted Wilson is not God. The only One who can lead us to heaven is Him. Folks, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but God is not an SDA.

“Technically, two movements must occur before God will have a remnant.... First, many SDAs will decide to leave the church and will join Babylon (ref. Great Controversy, page 608).... Second, a great number of people who are not now SDAs will be convinced that God is truthfully perceived by this church, and will join (ref. Great Controversy, page 390). This blending of God’s friends at the end time is what will make up the remnant.”

I hope and pray that all church leaders allow the Holy Spirt to guide them and not their personal politics and cultural preferences. Personally I am not surprised that even in 2010 a non white person cannot be elected as President of a worldwide church but we tend to be followers and not leaders when it comes to race relations.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Thank God for you Dr. Wilson. I know if you could go to Africa and preach in that open field in Gardnersville, Monrovia, Liberia, as God led you, you can do again by God's grace, meeting justice at the feet of mercy(Jesus).

Dear Pastor Wilson and Shepherdess Nancy,

Congratulation for being elected to the sacred office. I am proud of you really. How I wish I witnessed the event of your being elected into it. You are absolutely right to say that your close guide shall need be the Holy Spirit i.e the Bible and the SOP and that we need revival and reformation in our beloved church. I believe that after both excitement and fear are gone and after you have finally returned to an equilibrium, every counsel from your associates shall have to be tested against these guides because in the judgement you will stand alone for what God's holy church will be in your "hands". Great challenge indeed but be still because The Lord will go with you if you will. I think that it is more likely (like in Bible times) that standing for truth will not be popular and that you may have more enemies of humans (See Elijah and John the Baptist of which we are antitype) but countless friends of angels on your side but God will help you. I hope this sounds biblical to you. Study the past closely and see where we are as a church and I pray that God will help His servant see in clear light that we need the old time religion in our midst now than ever before. Lastly but more important, I believe that it is impractical for you to know what is going on in every part of the field that God has given under you (or do you truly belive God has placed you there?). If yes, then the same God will show you what is going on if you are obedient (just like he hid nothing from Abraham on the way to Sodom). If not, you may sorrowfully give way to others or unhypocritically ask God to lead you as a child. Congrants!

Amen, here in Makerere University in Uganda are greatful for the work of God and we pray that He continues to use us all for His work. Praying for our new leader. Amen.

Congratulations to Pastor Wilson and to all the other elected leaders, whether why are chosen by God or not only time will tell. Sometimes God allows things to happen does not mean it meets the Creator's seal of approval. #Sometimes I think the church is like the England football not as 'good' as it thinks it is. Thank God for someone in leadership who stands for both the truth in Jesus, and His commandments, and is not afraid to say so. I pray that Ted can follow through on these high expectations, and that particularly in northern europe (I write from Sweden). I thank God for a missionary minded president who knows the needs of distant lands. There is still a wonderful photo in Derry SDA church in northern Ireland of Ted doing the dishes, when he was there on a campaign (I was married in that church before moving to Sweden). Though your enemies will be great Ted, remember the song of ps 91, put into music by Martin Luther: 'Though this world with devils filled, should threaten to undo us, we will not fear for God hath willed, His truth to triumph through us.' The controversy is thickening, the muslim world is looking for a true spiritual people of the book, the catholic world are seeking a practical religion away from going back into meditation and the forms of a past generation, and here in Sweden is a decided need for a leader who stands for principal. I pray that God protect you and your principles, in the easy life of north america, and remember the small churches in Egypt, the middle east, and northern europe. We follow the Bible and Jesus, not a church traditional following! God needs faithful Moses' for this time, Go Forward! I will be praying for you.

My prayer is that God directed the leadership and ministry of Pastor Wilson and give him wisdom to lead his people these next five years remaining. Amen

Congratulations to Pastor Ted N.C. Wilson became on the post of New PRESIDENT and all the other New Leaders elected for NOMINATING COMMITTEE of the SDA WORLD CHURCH. It is very special appeal by ALMIGHTY GOD for you to be called GOD’s servant through the REMNANT CHURCH. “Nuts were selected – GOD is waiting for spiritual fruits”. Your live experience, professional preparation, engagement, new vision and faith should bring needed positive change, improvement and success. HIS MAJESTY is giving you great opportunity to improve Church performance in realization of GOD’s PLAN and keep all Church Members strong in unity. The most important things in CHURCH are the people. In nowadays, the most of Church members’ income is very moderate and it is not enough to cover current expenses. The large part of people in the Earth is living in extreme poverty. The above aspects must be taken in consideration. As Leaders, you have been charged with various kinds of duties to fulfill GOD’s Purpose. Each Institution and Organization included Church, by ways of accessible means, during realization of the fixed legal program in various time, different terms and conditions must continually improve their performance and proceeding under efficacy structural system of organization in order to meet local needs, reach fixed goal and fulfill corporate MISSION. Certain weakness, neglected, or imperceptible activities and services none more functional under present structure of organization, should be improved and changed right now.

I pray for realization of divine purpose and injection of fresh vision in the SDA World Church activity and services:

• That Almighty GOD leads new Leaders and gives them HIS wisdom as well as conducts them by HOLY SPIRIT in order to succeed MISSIONARY WORKS in many ways through the SDA World Church as GOD’s REMNANT CHURCH/NEW ISRAEL.

• That new Leader/s will be able to lead the SDA WORLD CHURCH to succeed fixed Mission as Moses has guided his people to Promised Land in extremely difficult conditions and circumstances under GOD’s leadership, grace and care, where nobody was forgotten.

• That new Leader/s will be able to take appropriate measures during developing several concepts, programs and ideas using with proper manner of the great human potential in disposal to meet local needs. It is yours immense responsibility as Leaders (as father of family taking care about their members) in front of the Almighty GOD to lead Church with spirit of prophecy in right direction during hard ending time.

In the circle of GOD’s LOVE, GOD has given you opportunity to use in full your potential. May Holy Spirit fulfill your mind with GOD’s Wisdom and lead you to success in many ways. Each Church member has great potential in different domains. Well structured system of organization and proper subjects understanding, in help of GOD, can succeed all efforts. It is a great opportunity to explore, initiate and realize of various enterprises in missionary works by each involved individual for GREATER GLORY OF GOD.

Many constant GOD’s blessing!

The question was asked, "Why is the president from North American when the North American membership is in the minority. Well you'll need to ask the world delegates. The delegates from North America were in the minority. The majority of delegates were outside North American, from Africa and Asia, Europe and Austrailia. So if you want to find out how a North American man was elected to the position, you'll need to ask the delegates, the majority of which were NOT from North America.

am so happy that we have a new president in the office, all i can say is may the good lord lead you into leading the children of God into truth. lean not in your understanding but trust the LIving God.

God Bless Ted Wilson as he continues to serve God first
and the church second. Taking the message back to the
Bible only and Spirit of Prophecy as a complement, and
quoting from it repeatedly in his sermon and stating clearly
our position on the Sabbath, Three Angel's message and
other beliefs directly referred from the Bible was guided
from the Holy Spirit. As adventist people let us serve
God first and foremost and lead the world to Jesus Christ
only our Savior and not be entangled in the safety of just
joining the church, since it does not save but point to the
Redeemer, and His sacrifice, Grace, Love and keeping His
commandments, and reflecting His character that leads to
eternal life.

Congratulations! Stay humble and faithful till He comes. God bless in your leadrship!

My brother i think you are making a huge mistake by saying the concernd brother should ask the world deligates. It has been stated that Pastor Wilson was appointed by the church's 246-member Nominating Committee and confirmed by the General Conference Session delegation, which is an international body of 2,410 appointed members and the highest governing body in the church. The question here is whether the majority of the church members is proportionally represented in 246m NC as well in so called 2,410am & highest governing body in the church.

Thank the Lord that He has provided a man of God to be our Conference President.

Now, maybe he can do something about getting our 3 Angels Church logo back. Afterall, isn't our last day message the 3 Angels messages?

Praise the Lord.

Congratulation Pastor and Mrs. Wilson,
I thank God for his leading in the election of this New President for the General Conference. Too long the church has suffered because of poor leadership. Pastors are afraid to preach the thus saith the Lord. and now I can hardly say where the world ends and the church begins. It is my belief that if Pastor Ralph Thompson is not retired he would be an excellent choice of Secretary for you.

From his exit sermon, he assures me that he too is a no nonsense person when it come to the leading of God's people. You and you family will be in our prayers continually because the devil is strong and many will be willing to be used by him for his glory. But, do not be dismayed, like with the children of Israel marching around the city wall those are with you are more than those you will be against you. And remember God uses 300 men to fought the battle with Gideon.

Yours in the Master Service.

Well, the spirit is leading so i am happy it hsa all come to an end and Wilson came as the elected president.

Pastor Ted Wilson,
Congratulations for the servant leadership role that has been bestowed on you. God has a purpose that He has put you there to accomplish for Him. Approach His throne and ask for His wisdom to guide and show you what His purposes are for you to lead His world church.
We shall continue to pray for you. In humility and prayer you will accomplish His mission.

My deepest longings is that this brother will hear the still small voice and will not compromise with the lack of consecration of the great majority. May the Lord be his shield against corruption inside and outside of the church. May Rome never get close to him on any point. He is still human and needs more the blessings of God than the praises and applauses of his fellow beings. I personally thank God for a president who is not Jesuit-educated and who understands that the rejection of the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, is the rejection of the whole HOLY BIBLE. It's time that we as a people stop dressing, drinking, eating, talking and walking like the world. May God help him put out corruption in the different regional conferences. God bless your family and your daughters and keep their feet from the path of formalism and conformism to the world. It's high time for the church leadership and membership to experience that genuine change of heart inspired by the word of God or else.

I hope that a true revival will mark the SDA Church in the next 5 years. I hope that the SDAs will realise where they stand and that a church without converted people has no place in the God's work. I hope that the SDAs will realise that keeping the Sabbath and being vegan have no meaning while Chistian love dosn't even exist among them.

i real congraturate our Pastor Ted Wilson, for this achievement of leading God's chosen church. Truely it was God's call for him before he was even born. God has a reason for him being in that position now; and i pray that our God who has led him through his life to date, continue to use him for his purpose. we shall always be praying for him so that together we can answer our call as God's children.

My deepest congratulation to you Pr. Ted. God has been so good all the time to lead His people through different leaders and it is your turn to lead the World church of adventists for the next five years. Keep it up, God is on your side to lead you through.

May God bless our new church leader, and give him the wisdom to lead His church according to His will.
Just wondering why the mainstream churchhas removed the 3 angel signs and the name Seventh-day from their church signs, correspondence, etc, and established a new logo with an open Bible and the papal crucifix above the Bible (the symbol of the pagan sun god) with two New Age Holy Spirit flames above that. Thus we appear as any other evangelical church. So what is uniquie about the Adventist Church? At the time of the Sunday Law, Sealing and Loud Cry only the true remnant at that time will be known as Seventh-day Adventists who will openly condemn the sins of Babylon. Of course this will enrage the beast and new world order, expediting last day events. This name change is pretty well established in USA and spreading worldwide, including Papua New Guinea and Korea where they just removed what makes them a distinctive people. At the bottom of EW 273 it states, "Satan, has taken full possession of the churches as a body." This was the state of Bylon 150 years ago, what must it be like today. Sad to say that the SDA have allowed this condition
to permeate their midst. Is not time for our new GC, president, Ted Wilson,to reconsider, readopting our original logo of the three angels flying in mid heaven, and which indeed, characterises us as a unique movement with a unique message to a perishing world?

We praise the Lord who leads and directs His church on earth. Our fervent, sincere prayers will continue to ascend in behalf of dear Ted Wilson, our newly elected GC president. May the Almighty God empower him with His holy spirit, to fulfil the goal he expressed in his opening speech of directing the SDA Churc twards reform, prayer, and upholding the Spirit of prophecy, through which we are asured :"There is yet much precious truth to be revealed to the people in this time of peril and darkness…Precious truths that have long been in obscurity are to be revealed in a light that will make manifest their sacred worth..." {CSW 25}.
Ellen White was asked, "Do you think that the lord has any more light for us as a people?" Her answer was: "He has light that is new to us, yet it is precious old light" {RH, June 3, 1890 par 2}. "The 10 virgins of Matt. 25 have knowledge of the scriptures and are confidently expecting Christ's appearing. But when the cry is sounded, "Behold the Bridegroom cometh go ye out to meet Him", some were not ready. "They have no oil in their vessels. They are destitute of the Holy Spirit.. Because they do not know God…they have not studied His character, nor hold communion with Him" {COL. P. 408,411}.
How could this happen to God's people
"It is the darkness of misapprehension of God that is enshrouding the world. Men are losing their knowledge of His character. It has been misunderstood and misinterpreted."{Ibid, 415}
If they are loosing the knowledge of God's character, it means they must have had it correct before. May God lead you our dear president Ted Wilson to geer our church back to a fuller knowledge of God's character of love. "The truth and the glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us, with the Bible within our reach, to honor God by erroneous opinions. Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right. But the life is molded by the faith. If light and truth is within our reach, and we neglect it; we are choosing darkness rather than light". (DA.596
May God grant you the wisdom, our dear Ted Wilson to rid the church of all invented traditions, and lead it back to the original pillars of faith , you stressed in your opening presentation.

Elder Ted, you have a task greater than you can and could bear. But, I believe you are good administratively. You can work effectively in the multi-culture phases of the church now if prayer be your daily concern. I wish you well.

Is SDA Church the true church? Can anybody answer this question? If it is the true church why then close to 100% of its members show no sign of conversion? People are 'nice' but distant while in the chrch. The same people are totaly different while outside of the church. Working for SDAs could be the worst experience someone may ever have. SDAs like to create 'ministries' designed for their own good first. These organisations are family businesses plagued by nepotism, favoritism toward family employees and discrimination toward non family employees. It is a general situation not just an isolated case. I have seen it in many SDA churches and SDA 'ministries'.

Dear Elder Ted. Wilson,
May God bless you and give you the extra ordinary wisdom to finish His mission and to lead the leaders of His Church and members of God's family! Move forward with your special commitment and deication! We love and pray for you! We will be with you in This Great Call.

Your brother in His call,

Gebre

Dear Brother Ted,
There is no question in my mind that your election as well as your Sabbath address has caused a lot of opposition in both leading and lay circles. I know of some comments from leaders of Conference Union presidents in Europe, Australia and India who speak disparagingly about your presentation, and that in front of public. All those who are looking for "new ways of worship" and "new, progressive ideas and innovations" got quite disappointed.

But I want to encourage you to "Go Forward" no matter what it costs. Jeremiah says that the only true prophets (or servants) of God are those who "had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." Jer 23:22. And I sense this is what you began to do.

I heard an instant call from my friends in Europe asking me to translate your sermon into their language. They said their leaders would never let such a presentation be available in their language. Or, if they will, they would first water it down. So I did and I am happy to be a part in God's cause to let people know what He said through you.

I realized you need protection of our Lord Jesus Christ. So, I put you on my prayer list and pray for you on daily basis.

The time is almost up. May God richly bless you, your wife, and those who you choose to work with.
With the love of Christ

The best decision in my entire life has been being baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist church and being showed the truths God has given us. I am so glad you burst many bubbles of those who are trying to bring in these new ways of worship which actually is old what continues to happen over and over again for the past 6,000 years. Well, thank you Lord for bringing president Wilson to head this movement. Very refreshing, reviving and a relief. I will pray for you and your wife each and everyday. God grant you strength and a steadfast heart. Many blessings.

THANK YOU FOR BEING ELECTED I HOPE TO SEE YOU
