Seventh-day Adventist Church technology leaders in Africa this week addressed challenges such as local resistance to technology, reaching target groups effectively and maintaining church standards.
In a regional meeting of the world church’s Global Internet Evangelism Network (GIEN) held August 13-17, the group also discussed educating church members about Internet use and promoting creation of new Web sites.
The conference is a regional extension of the church’s international GIEN conference, held annually since 2004.
The 58 attendees included technologists, evangelists and communicators from Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
