"United in Witness of Truth" is the theme for the four-day Annual Council of Seventh-day Adventist church leaders due at the world headquarters. The meetings begin Oct. 8 with centennial celebrations at nearby Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church. The year 2004 marks the 100th anniversary of the Adventist presence in Takoma Park, Maryland, United States, which was once the world headquarters of the movement.

Nearly 300 leading executives and lay members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church from around the world will gather in Silver Spring to discuss current and planned actions for its immediate future, as well as its next international administrative event.

Adventist News Network will feature daily reports from Annual Council, as well as audio and video streams of major addresses from Dr. Jan Paulsen, world church president, and daily devotional messages. Official documents from the session will also be available on the ANN Web site, http://news.adventist.org.
