Dec. 22, 1998

San Salvador, El Salvador … [ANN] A new FM station in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador is the latest in a growing number of major cities in the Americas to have access to the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s The Voice of Hope on a local outlet.

The new station, also known as “La Voz del Evangelio Eterno,” operates at 96.5 MHz, with one kilowatt of power to cover the capital’s metropolitan area and part of seven provinces with a potential audience of 2.5 million.

Station Manager Adalberto Gomes says the station went on the air with test transmissions for 6 hours a day on October 5.  The broadcasts have now increased to 12 hours a day and soon will expand to 16 hours per day.  The station intends to join the Voice of Hope network to provide listeners with the international service supplied by Adventist World Radio.
