Adventist Pastor Filmed by National Geographic ... On Feb. 11, a film crew from National Geographic’s television unit visited the Sacramento Central Seventh-day Adventist Church to record Sabbath services and to interview Pastor Doug Batchelor, senior pastor, regarding the book of Revelation. Batchelor was brought to the crew’s attention by the high level of Internet traffic directing them to the Amazing Facts Web site regarding the prophecies of Revelation. He will be featured in “The Riddle of Revelation,” a documentary expected to include scholars from Liberty University, Oral Roberts University and the Vatican. No broadcast date has been set.

Crisis Training for Swedish Adventists ... Swedish Adventist church leaders and members participated in crisis management training Feb. 18 and 19 in the town of Örebo. Seventy people attended the first event, learning how to communicate during a crisis, and how to tap into local resources and support groups in Sweden. Miroslav Pujic, communication director at the Trans European church region, and John Banks, associate communication director of the Adventist world church , provided specialized training for administrators, institutions, the regional executive committee and pastors. Case studies and training exercises put the seminar theory into practice.

Spanish-language Broadcast Outreach Set ... Seventh-day Adventist congregations in North America, and beyond, desiring to reach Spanish-language speakers in their communities have the opportunity to sign up for “Jesús es la Esperanza,” or, “Jesus is the Hope,” a seven-night satellite outreach series beginning April 15 in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church. The 90-minute programs will be available at 7:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time, 8 p.m. Central time and 7 p.m. Mountain time.
