Adventist chaplains minister to institutions where the church otherwise has little or no ministry. Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries was established in 1985 to support and promote the work of chaplains worldwide. Seventh-day Adventist Chaplain Barry Black currently serves as chaplain to the United States Senate.
