Stewardship

The Adventist Church promotes a Biblical approach to stewardship that sees Christians walking in partnership with God to advance his work on Earth. Adventists trace stewardship back to creation, when God enlisted Adam and Eve as stewards of the Earth. Today, the church teaches a holistic view of stewardship. More than the faithful returning of tithes and offerings, Adventists are also stewards of their talents, time and bodies, which the Bible calls ‘temples of God.’

  • The first Sabbath School mission offerings were collected in 1877
  • Many church regions began appointing stewardship directors in the 1970s
