Mexico: Mega Youth Sabbath Draws Mega Viewership

Some 2,500 young people joined in a mega Sabbath worship program at Montemorelos University Church in Mexico via the Internet. And many more viewed the program as it was broadcast live on Adventist Television Networks' Esperanza TV and Nuevo Tiempo, as well as A.D.venir Network. At the church alone there were 2,000 gathered.

Korea: New English-Language Church Seen as Unique Evangelism Tool

In the Ilsan district of Koyang City, Korea, northwest of Seoul, Sabbath, or Saturday, morning worship is now rather different for some Seventh-day Adventists than in the nearly 700 other Adventist churches in Korea. Instead of singing, praying and hearing sermons and Bible readings in the Korean language, church members will be immersed in the same faith rituals, but in English.

The meeting was a joint venture between the church's Global Center for Adventist-Muslim Relations (GCAMR), Newbold College, and the Shia Muslim community, whose main United Kingdom center is in Maida Vale, London.

Cameroon: University's First Woman President Re-Elected

Dr. Lucille Sabas has been given a vote of confidence. As the only woman president of a Seventh-day Adventist university in male-dominated Africa, Sabas was re-elected after three years in office. An installation ceremony was held April 30 officially recognizing Sabas as the rector, or president, of the Adventist University, Cosendai, located in Yaounde, Cameroon.
