United Kingdom: Christians Question Impending Sexual Orientation Regulations

Christian protestors made national news headlines on Tuesday, January 9 when they demonstrated outside British Parliament against new regulations to protect gay rights. Since then, concerned citizens, among them Adventists, have petitioned their parliamentary representatives to vote against the impending measures.

Vandalism of Adventist Church Upsets Serbian President, Community Members

The vandalism of a small Seventh-day Adventist village church in Serbia has caught the attention of the country's president, Boris Tadic. In his comments to the nation President Tadic said the January 8 incident was hooliganism and such acts must be stopped. The president also publicly requested that the police speed up the investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

World Church: Redefining the Meaning of Adventist Mission

Up until fairly recently the idea of mission in the Seventh-day Adventist Church was relatively simple to define. "Real" mission work involved church members from Western countries moving across the world to live among native groups for long periods of time with the hope of sharing the gospel and eventually baptizing people into the Adventist church. Today, there are literally hundreds of ways to become involved in mission work in the Adventist church independent of that traditional concept of cross-cultural mission work.

North America: Adventist Student Trial Team Rules in Favor of Sabbath Observance

"I'm just proud to say we made it this far and ended on a good note. I have no regrets about pulling out," said Kaitlyn Serikaku, a team captain for Seventh-day Adventist-owned Loma Linda Academy's mock trial team. The team withdrew from the San Bernardino, California School District Mock Trial competition when semifinals fell on Saturday, or Sabbath, December 9.

Indonesia: Church Leaders Pray for Members Aboard a Missing Plane

The Seventh-day Adventist community in Indonesia is praying that increased efforts will soon find passengers of the Adam Air KI 574 plane that went missing on New Year's Day. The plane, which left the main island of Java and headed to Manado, had 102 people on board, of whom nine were Adventists.
