The humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church was recently awarded for its commitment to education in Somalia. ADRA Somalia received praise during the 4th Joint Review of the Education Sector conducted in the city of Puntland. The agency was recognized for its continued efforts to develop higher education for marginalized Somalian children.

Representatives from the European Union, World Bank, the Global Partnership for Education, and UNICEF were among the attendees. ADRA Somalia has developed programs in the nation that have helped more than 200,000 children in need of quality education. With major grants from the European Union, ADRA Somalia has trained teachers how to produce essential resources and ways to offer scholarships for students in financial need.
