Greg Sereda is a full-time Adventist YouTuber who makes Christian videos. His channel, Bible Flock Box, has recently surpassed 400,000 subscribers and 44 million video views.
Sereda gets daily messages from people all over the world in response to his videos—messages of lives being changed. People tell him that his videos have helped them understand the Bible better, helped them overcome various struggles with sin, and even helped them find a local Adventist church. Sereda openly endorses the Seventh-day Adventist Church on his channel and encourages people to worship there.
This YouTube channel has given Sereda remarkable opportunities to reach people with the gospel. One of those opportunities came in the form of an invitation he received in late December of last year.
Dayvid Valente, pastor of the Taunton Seventh-day Adventist church in the United Kingdom, contacted Sereda and invited him to witness a special baptism. Leonardo Doel had begun attending the Taunton church after watching the Bible Flock Box YouTube channel and was going to be baptized.
Before his trip to the U.K., Sereda recorded a couple of live streams on his channel and invited his viewers to join him for worship in the Taunton church. He currently lives in Poland, Europe, so it was a short flight to the U.K.
Valente picked Sereda up from the Bristol airport and asked him in the car, "So how many people do you think will come to church as a result of your invitation?" Sereda responded, "I'm not sure. I've never done anything like this before. Not to mention, most of my viewers are from the United States."
When Sereda arrived at Sabbath service the next morning, Pastor Valente informed him that there were about 10 people there as a result of his invitation. They were both pleasantly surprised. After the service started, more people showed up, increasing that number to about 15.
After witnessing Doel’s baptism, Sereda was privileged to share his testimony. He spoke about his life of drugs, crime, and prison before becoming a Christian.
"I became a Christian at the age of 23," he shared. "I was serving a nine-year federal prison sentence in the United States on drug and gun crimes. I started reading the Bible and attending Christian services. Early on during my incarceration, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and that changed my life. Near the end of the first year of my incarceration, I read the book the Great Controversyby Ellen White. Afterward, I became a Seventh-day Adventist."
Pastor Valente stood and made a call for baptismal preparation. Several people responded to the call. Four of them were people who came as a result of Greg's invitation on YouTube.
At potluck that afternoon, Sereda visited with some of the guests that came as a result of his online invitation. "It was really nice getting to know some of my viewers personally," he said. "I get messages from people on social media all time, and I'm glad, but that's not the same as personal contact."
Sereda started uploading videos to YouTube at the beginning of 2011, after being released from prison and moving to Poland. "It's the best evangelism tool I have ever used," he said. "After becoming a Christian in prison, I was convicted that I needed to share my faith. I shared Bible literature and conducted Bible studies with people, and after I got released from prison I wanted to continue doing that. Unfortunately, I didn't speak Polish very well, so I started looking for an online outlet which would allow me to do that in English. That's when I discovered YouTube. Now, I get so many messages from people through my YouTube channel, it's impossible for me to answer them all."
When asked to share the secret of his success on YouTube, Sereda said, "Prayer and work. You have to pray big prayers and have faith that God hears you. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is 'able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.'”
